application areas
the 2100plus cyanide water quality online analyzer is designed for online monitoring of cyanide content in various water sources, including surface water, groundwater, water supply sources, industrial wastewater, and municipal sewage.
detection principles
under acidic conditions, cyanides in the sample react with chloramine-t to produce cyanogen chloride, which then reacts with isonicotinic acid. after a hydrolysis reaction, it forms glutaraldehyde, and finally, it reacts with barbituric acid to generate a colored compound. the absorbance of this substance is proportional to the cyanide content and is measured at a specific wavelength.
