detection principle
the gc6010 online monitoring system for non-methane hydrocarbons (nmhc) utilizes gas chromatography with flame ionization detection (gc-fid). the sample, upon entering the analyzer, is collected into a quantitative loop. the sample in the quantitative loop is then carried by a carrier gas to the chromatographic column for separation. the separated components enter the fid detector for analysis. during sample analysis, one portion passes through an empty column to the fid detector, providing the total hydrocarbon content. simultaneously, another portion passes through a chromatographic column for separation. methane is first separated and detected by the chromatographic column, and then, through valve switching, the remaining non-methane total hydrocarbons retained in the pre-column are purged out. using the differential method, the concentration of non-methane hydrocarbons (nmhc) is obtained by subtracting the methane (ch4) concentration from the total hydrocarbons (thc) concentration. the system employs a five-position ten-port valve, combined with a patented chromatographic backflush method, ensuring accurate and reliable results.
application area
the gc6010 online monitoring system is designed for continuous online monitoring of non-methane hydrocarbons (nmhc) and aromatic compounds such as benzene concentrations in ambient air or air pollution sources.
features
fast response time, capable of detecting non-methane hydrocarbons (nmhc) and aromatic compounds within 3 minutes.
strong adaptability, suitable for various complex conditions such as high humidity, high temperature, high concentration, and oil content.
patented backflush analysis method ensures excellent separation, stable baseline, extended column lifespan, and reduced frequency of column replacement.
the entire sampling pipeline is high-temperature heated without cold spots, ensuring accurate measurements. this design eliminates issues such as volatile organic compound loss and corrosion or crystallization blockages in traditional condensation extraction methods.
